Medical Marijuana – MPJE – Pharmacy Law
As of December 2018, 33 states have specific medical marijuana laws and programs. At the Federal level marijuana is still classified as a Schedule I drug. As a pharmacist you should be aware of the laws and regulations of your state pertaining to the marijuana recommendations, dispensing, and registration of approved patients. The National Conference of State Legislatures has a great article published on 1/23/2019 covering “State Medical Marijuana Laws”. Take a look at it and familiarize yourself with the specific laws related to marijuana use in your state.
